The new route, which is scheduled to begin on March 27, 2018, will be the third London connection for Cobalt Air. The start-up already connects Larnaca with Gatwick and Stansted.

“We are delighted to add London Heathrow to our UK network which is a key market for Cyprus tourism and business. Cobalt Air is the only carrier flying from the main three London airports to Cyprus. Cobalt Air has quickly become the preferred airline of the Cypriot people; and we can’t wait to show you our great welcome and on-board service as you start your holiday or business trip from London to Cyprus.”

On the new Heathrow route, Cobalt Air will offer a new business class product. Cobalt Air currently operates a fleet of two Airbus A319 with a single class configuration for 144 seats and four Airbus A320 with 144 seats in economy and 12 business class seats.

Cobalt Air commenced operations in July 2016. The airline, which has been chosen as start-up airline of the year 2017 by Capa is competing another start-up called Cyprus Airways, which commenced operations in 2016 as well.
