Dublin-based aircraft leasing company Genesis has formed a strategic alliance with Heston Aviation to create a new Start-Up carrier: Heston Airlines. The airline will be a new charter and ACMI service provider with headquarters in Lithuania.

For the past 12 months, the companies have been supporting each other to compile the strategy and development of the new airline. With the delivery of Heston Airline´s first Airbus A320 aircraft, the appliance for an EASA Air Operators Certificate (AOC) will be supported.

In the near future, the airline will perform ACMI and charter services with an all-Airbus fleet to reduce maintenance and operational costs. The first aircraft is equipped with 180 seats while other aircraft are expecting to join the fleet this year, too.

Karl Griffin, CEO of Genesis, commented on the partnership: “Since March 2020, Genesis has been working together with the Heston team on this innovative way to bring flexible lift directly into the charter and ACMI airline market, providing both wet and dry leasing solutions to airlines as they start to take off with the vaccine roll-out across Europe.”

Jonas Rinkauskas, CEO of Heston Airlines, added: “Entering this agreement marks a substantial moment in our long-term strategy and efforts to increase vertical integration and cost control, and we are proud and pleased to announce it. The possibility to leverage Genesis’ global portfolio of aircraft and unparalleled expertise will contribute to both our growth as a company, and to our ability to offer significantly better, faster, more flexible, and cost-efficient services to our clients. We are eager to share these and many other subsequent advantages with them in the nearest future.”

Heston Airlines will be one of the few post-COVID-19 Start-Up airlines and seeks to use its value proposition with its industry´s best costs base, which allows the airline to offer competitive and flexible solutions to customers during the recovery time of the flight travel market.

Heston Aviation group is focused on aviation assets Leasing, Trading, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul, and now ACMI/Charter operations, while joint venture partner Genesis is a full-service aircraft lessor based in Dublin. Genesis currently owns and manages 73 Airbus and Boeing aircraft and was established in 2014.
