The carrier, which was founded in 2015 and commenced operations in January 2016, stated on its Facebook page that all operations are temporary suspended. LAW operated a fleet of five Boeing 737-300 from its base at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago de Chile.

In January, LAW announced to stop all domestic operations due to missing market shares and the entrance of new competitors like JetSmart on the Chilean market. The airline focused on operations to several international destinations like Mendoza in Argentina, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Caracas in Venezuela and even Miami in the United States.

According to the statement, LAW plans to use its downtime for a restructuring process with the aim of recommencing operations with a new business model in the next months.

Beside the Indigo Partners start-up JetSmart, which operates a fleet of five Airbus A320, LAW has to compete with LATAM Chile and the low-cost carrier Sky Airline in Chile.

LAW was founded by a group of lawyers and is managed by Andres Dulcinelli.
