Starting with a fleet of two Boeing 737-800s in dry lease, Air Lanna wants to meet growing market needs. The project initiator is CEI Aviation and Logistics Co., Ltd., based in Bangkok.

Especially expanding markets in Thailand, China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East prompted the founding of the new airline. Air Lanna, also based in Bangkok, is said to offer scheduled and charter flights out of Bangkok, serving domestic destinations as well as global destinations.

The airline states in its LinkedIn profile that expanding markets in China and a demand for linking Southeast Asia with global destinations favor the founding of Air Lanna. Bangkok will serve as the airline’s passenger and cargo hub. Air Lanna is committed to high-quality service.

The company is now looking to find investors. Currently, the airline is searching for partners to dry lease the two planned 737s for two to three years. Also, AOC and AOL certifications are to be secured.

CEO Poonpat Chomjit has more than ten years of experience in the aviation and hospitality industry. Before he founded Air Lanna in March 2018 he was director of Commercial at Thai Platinum International Airlines and Asia Aviation Industrial Co. Ltd.
