The flights will be operated in cooperation with Italy´s Ernest Airlines. Ernest currently operates flights with a fleet of one Airbus A319 and two A320s. The deal however is a dry-lease agreement, as Tayaran will provide the crew.

Between November 2018 and the end of January, Tayaran will base its crew in Tirana. The new announcement also marks the first scheduled passenger operations for Tayaran Jet. The carrier is currently holding a Bulgarian Aircraft Operator´s Certificate (AOC), which was issued back in August this year.

In a statement, Tayaran Jet said about the partnership: “The successful union between the two will cover various popular European destinations for the duration of the Christmas holiday season.”

For about two years now, Ernest Airlines is connecting Italian airport with hubs in Albania, Romania and the Ukraine. As Tirana was one of the first destinations operated by the carrier, it shows the clear interest in the destination. This new cooperation underlines the ambitions of Ernest to grow and strengthen its presence at Tirana.

According to Tayaran Jet, Tirana International Airport will be connected to Venice, Verona, Milan, Bologna, Kiev and further destinations, with prices beginning at 39€.

Tayaran Jet currently operates with a single Boeing 737-300, registered LZ-TYR. The aircraft was originally delivered in 1991 to Lufthansa. Tayaran hopes to establish itself in the European low-cost market over the coming years.
