According to aviation media, the company has enabled aerial food delivery for a golf course in North Dakota, United States. Via a mobile app, golfer can order food at a restaurant. The food or refreshments will then be delivered by a drone. That means, the players do not need to wait for the beverage cart anymore.

In an interview with CNNMoney, Flytrex CEO Yariv Bash commented: "Wherever you are, you should be able to get what you want within a few minutes [...] Why wait?"

A golf course is the perfect surrounding to test such services, as they provide big and open spaces for the drone to land. This minimizes the risk of a collision or injury. With the ongoing operations, Flytrex hopes to furthermore collect experience to expand its services portfolio.

Last year, Flytrex has launched the world´s first drone delivery system, that operates autonomously in Iceland. After this successful implementation with hundreds of automated food deliveries, the company has reportedly gained FAA approval to test its services at a dedicated UAS test site in North Carolina.

But the company has big plans for the future. Besides offering the golf course services, it furthermore aims to eventually be able to offer drone delivery services to private residences. Flytrex is working together with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (DOT) to enable aerial deliveries to Raleigh suburbs.

However, drone deliveries are not a common sight in the United States, as regulations forbid flying over people.
