The new Jetcopter is an urban VTOL (Vertical Take-off and Landing) air taxi and will be unveiled throughout the AERO 2019 general aviation trade exhibition, which is taking place from April 10 to April 13 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Jetcopter stated that its new VTOL aircraft would meet all EASA requirements for new-generation VTOL vehicles and will be certified according to the authority. Jetcopter plans, that five passengers can be accommodated on the new VTOL air taxi.

It is being powered by two 500hp (368kw) converted automotive motors that rotate two 200cm large air turbines. The 950 km/h strong airflow of the aircraft can be divided into four endpoints, where the flow then can be vectored to any direction. Moreover, the Jetcopter will be able to hover over the ground like a drone. The company stated that the pilot would only have to select the desired altitude, direction and speed to make the VTOL air taxi fly to its destination autonomously.

The range of the Jetcopter amounts to 1000km, and the highest speed will be above 300 km/h. This represents the highest velocity of all current VTOL air taxis. Jetcopter also stated that the MTOW (Maximum Take-Off Weight) would be at 2000kg.

A full-scale mock-up of the new Jetcopter will be shown during the AERO 2019 in Friedrichshafen. Visitors can see the VTOL air taxi for themselves for the first time.
