Airlines Amelia International takes delivery of new ATR 72-600

French carrier Amelia International has taken delivery of a new ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft.

French airline Amelia International has received a further ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft to enhance operations. According to the airline, the aircraft will be mainly used for the route between Clermont-Ferrand and Paris.

This new route will allow the industrial area in Clermont to be connected directly to Paris. Also, the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region will be benefiting from the new connection, as not many airlines are operating in the region.

Amelia International will operate the route in accordance with its customer groups, which are business professionals, vacationers and others. The flight program sees the possibility for businessmen and -woman to make a round trip during the day and also allows vacationers to enjoy a weekend in Puy-de-Dôme or at Paris.

Alain Regourd, president of the Amelia group, said: “The Amelia group's desire is to actively participate in the development of the French regional economic fabric, in a responsible manner. With its engine, which enables it to record very low CO2 emission rates, the ATR contributes to Amelia's sustainable development policy, while meeting our expectations in terms of comfort and reliability, with a view to an optimal flight experience for our passengers.”

Stefano Bortoli, Executive Chairman of ATR, added: “We are very happy to see the Amelia group take over the Clermont-Ferrand - Paris Orly line by ATR and put its operational expertise at the service of the region and its passengers. Choosing to serve a regional route in ATR means choosing at the same time profitability, operational flexibility, comfort, modernity and the most environmentally friendly regional aircraft.”

The ATR 72-600 is well-suited for regional operations with its low carbon missions. On typical regional routes, the aircraft consumes up to 40 percent less fuel and emits up to 40 percent less CO2 than other regional jets.

Amelia International is part of the Amelia Aerospace Group by Regourd Aviation. The group was initially founded in 1976 by Alain Regourd and is based in Paris. The airline´s main business are regional routes or charter flights.

Amelia was founded in 2008 and has its head office at Ljubljana in Slovenia. The fleet consists of ATR 42, 72 and Embraer ERJ135 regional aircraft.
