From 3 October 2018 on Etihad’s route from Abu Dhabi to Rabat will be served by a Boeing Dreamliner 787-9. The airline currently operates an Airbus A330-300 in its scheduled service to the Moroccan capital and will be replacing the aircraft with Boeing’s technologically advanced Dreamliner to further boost its presence in the Moroccan market.

In May 2018, Etihad has already introduced a 787 Dreamliner in its scheduled daily service to Morocco’s commercial hub, Casablanca.

“Morocco is a very important destination on the Etihad network, underscoring the close cultural and commercial ties between the kingdom and the UAE. Our flights to Rabat and Casablanca have proved tremendously popular with UAE and Moroccan nationals, and residents. Adding the 787 Dreamliner on all our Moroccan services will now provide our customers flying to both capitals with the same award-winning cabins, innovative seating and products”, said Robin Kamark, Chief Commercial Officer of the Etihad Aviation Group.

Giving credit to the importance of the market and to meet demands in the summer travel season, Etihad recently added a third weekly service to Rabat to provide more choices for business and leisure travellers. Etihad Airways provides the only long-haul link from the Moroccan capital and has been serving Rabat since January 2016.

Boeing’s Dreamliner family provides a very high fuel efficiency and range flexibility. With a range of 14,140 km (7,635 nmi) the aircraft enables customers to open new routes as well as optimize their fleet and network performance. Etihad Airways’ three-class version of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner features 8 private First Suites, 28 Business Studios and 199 Economy Smart Seats.

Etihad Airways was established by Royal Decree in July 2003 and is 100 percent owned by the government of Abu Dhabi. The airline is one of five key business divisions in the Etihad Aviation Group (EAG) and serves over 110 destinations with a fleet of more than 120 aircraft.
