Newark Liberty International Airport will become the latest airport to be served by Frontier Airlines. This latest move by the carrier can be seen as an attack for established carriers like Delta Air Lines and United, who both offer a more premium service from Newark.

Over the course of the new hub, Frontier will serve nonstop flights from EWR to Cancun, Mexico; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Miami; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Phoenix; Raleigh, N.C., and San Juan. Additionally, Frontier will offer services to Ontario, California.

“We’re excited to make flying more affordable for the Garden State with 15 new routes from Newark,” Barry Biffle, President and CEO of Frontier Airlines said. “With fares as low as $15, we hope we inspire more people to fly and are delighted to meet that demand with our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ promise. This includes a focus on serving families as well as the environment with a more sustainable approach to flying.”

Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial for Frontier Airlines added: “We’d like to thank our partners at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the FAA for helping to establish Frontier as an effective low fare option at Newark Liberty Airport, without further contributing to delays in the most congested hours.”

Most of the flights will be outside the afternoon hours, meaning that the new movements will not bother the other traffic that is departing normally in addition. Especially big cities like New York are very delay prone in the afternoon hours.

Flights will start from November 14, 2019. “We are proud to be considered America’s Greenest Airline,” Biffle continued. “Frontier is the most fuel-efficient airline in the U.S., offering passengers both the most affordable and sustainable approach to flying.”

Frontier Airlines is a low-cost carrier from the United States. The airline was founded back in 1994 and currently operates an all-Airbus fleet of over 92 aircraft. Six Airbus A319s, 65 A320s including 44 A320neos and 21 A321s belong to the fleet. Frontier currently operates the largest A320neo fleet in the U.S.
