Over the past months, ITA Airways has announced codeshare partnerships with multiple airlines across the globe. The carrier signed agreements with Air Europa, TAP Air Portugal, Air Serbia, Air Malta and recently with Etihad Airways, Air France, and KLM.

As new Italian national airline, ITA Airways is continuing to improve their connectivity in the world. After entering airline alliance SkyTeam and SkyTeam Cargo, the airline also agreed an airline partnership with Helbiz. In connection with the recent confirmation to acquire 28 Airbus aircraft, the airline is continuing its path to grow its business.

In December, the codeshare agreements with Etihad Airways, Air France and KLM were announced. With the partnership with Air France, ITA customers are able to access the domestic French network and Nord European destinations. In the future, the partnership will be increased by adding selected U.S.-destinations.

With Etihad Airways and the recently ordered long-haul aircraft, ITA customers will benefit from the Gulf-carrier´s network that leads to destinations around the world. The partnership between the two carriers seeks to boost the business and tourism travel between Italy and the UAE.

The agreement with KLM for the codeshare partnership allows customers of KLM to book flights to domestic Ital and Southern Europe destinations, while ITA customers can benefit from the large European network KLM has.

Mostly, main goal of codeshare partnership is the connection of two airline´s network to create incentives for customers to book flights between destinations that normally would require two separate tickets. The partnerships provides the opportunity for a more seamless travel experience as baggage will be checked through to the final airport.

To establish itself in the global aviation scene, ITA Airways is partnering up with several airlines to give customers a maximum of choice when travelling to or from Italy, the airline´s main market. As the airline is entering alliance SkyTeam, it is expected that more partnerships with other airlines will be announced in the future.
