Airlines Ryanair launches London Winter 2018 schedule

Irish Low-Cost airline Ryanair has announced its 2018 Winter schedule for London. Furthermore, the airline has made a statement about the upcoming Brexit.

In total, 143 routes will be served from the airports Stansted, Luton and Gatwick.

3 new routes will be launched from Stansted to Belfast, Nantes and Edinburgh. Belfast will be served three times a day, Edinburgh 4 times a day and Nantes 4 times a week. Stansted will be Ryanair’s biggest London airport, with 123 routes in total, 21.6m passengers per year and 16,200 jobs.

Luton will see 15 routes in Winter 2018, while handling 1.6 million Ryanair passengers by 1,200 employees.

Gatwick is Ryanair´s third biggest airport in London, serving destinations to Alicante, Belfast, Dublin, Cork and Shannon. 975 employees will support the handling of 1.3m passengers yearly.

Ryanair’s Kenny Jacobs said: “We are pleased to launch our London winter 2018 schedule, which includes 3 new Stansted routes to Belfast, Edinburgh and Nantes, and 143 routes in total, which will deliver 24.5m customers through London’s airports this year.”

Ryanair offers connecting flights in Rome, Milan and Porto. Furthermore, the airline has made changes to improve timings and fare prices. Routes to Berlin, Dublin, Edinburgh, Madrid and Rome are affected.

Regarding UK´s departure from the EU in March 2019, Kennedy stated: "While we continue to campaign for the UK to remain in the EU Open Skies agreement, we caution that should the UK leave, there may not be sufficient time, or goodwill on both sides, to negotiate a timely replacement bilateral which could result in a disruption of flights between the UK and Europe for a period of time from April ’19 onwards, and/or the cancellation of flights and routes, and the movement of our based aircraft to Continental Europe."

Ryanair is a major European low-cost airline, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. With over 400 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the carrier operates flights to 210 destinations in 34 countries.
