Airlines SaudiGulf Airlines announces international routes

SaudiGulf Airlines has announced to launch international operations in March 2018.

The Dammam-based carrier plans to start international services from Riyadh to Dubai International Airport followed by Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot and Lahore in Pakistan.

Currently, SaudiGulf Airlines connects the four Saudi Arabian cities Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah and Abha. The carrier operates a fleet of four Airbus A320.

SaudiGulf Airlines was founded in 2013 and commenced domestic operations in 2016. In 2014 the carrier ordered 16 Bombardier CS300 aircraft for its fleet. Until now, SaudiGilf Airlines has not received any aircraft. In an article, published in 2017, the carrier announced it plans to acquire Boeing 777 long-haul aircraft. The aircraft should be used to connect Saudi-Arabia with North America, Europe and Asia. An official order has not been announced.

Saudi-Arabia is a fast-growing aviation market. The country has only two major airlines beside SaudiGulf Airlines. Saudia, also known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, is the national carrier with a fleet of over 180 aircraft. FlyNas is the country’s first budget airline with a fleet of over 30 Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
