Airlines Singapore Airlines presents new cabin product for its A380 fleet

Singapore Airlines announced a major overhaul of cabins for its entire A380 fleet. The carrier will receive five new A380 in the next months. All new delivered aircraft will be configured with the new cabin product. The retrofit work for the existing 14 A380 will start in late 2018 and is targeted for completion in 2020.

The new aircraft configuration will carry up to 471 customers in four classes of travel, with six Singapore Airlines Suites, 78 Business Class seats, 44 Premium Economy Class seats and 343 Economy Class seats. Suites will be moved to the upper deck alongside business class, while premium economy and economy will stretch out across the entire lower deck.

Singapore Airlines has currently two different cabin configurations for its A380’s. The Star Alliance member has eight A380s with 379 seats (12 suites, 86 business, 36 premium economy and 245 economy) while 11 have 441 seats (12 suites, 60 business, 36 premium economy and 333 economy).

Singapore Airlines was the launch operator of the A380 when it took delivery of the world’s first superjumbo in 2007. The carrier operates a fleet of 112 long haul aircraft.
