Soon, the Bern-based airline will retire its last remaining Dornier 328. As replacement, Skywork is likely to acquire one or two Embraer 170 regional jets. Furthermore, the fleet will be expanded by another Saab 2000.

With the new additions to the fleet in service, Skywork Airlines will operate with six aircraft for the upcoming Summer flight schedule.

According to the online flight schedule, the Embraer 170 jet will be deployed on the route between Bern and Palma de Mallorca. Most likely, Skywork will use the E170 to also serve touristic destinations such as Heringsdorf or Sylt from May 2018, and will be capable of seating up to 76 passengers.

The introduction of the Embraer 170 to the fleet heralds the start of the jet-era at Skywork Airlines. Moreover, with the retirement of the Dornier 328 and the reinforced operations with Saab 2000 aircraft, the airline boosts its passenger and cargo capacities.

Yet in October 2017, the airline was shortly grounded due to financial difficulties. After investors saved the airline from going fully bankrupt, Skywork now experiences unexpected growth. The airline received an unlimited operating licence at the end of October 2017.

Skywork Airlines is a regional carrier based in Bern, Switzerland. At the moment, the fleet consists of one Dornier 328-100 and four Saab 2000 aircraft. Skywork focuses on holiday and business destinations form and to its operational base located at Bern.
