Swiss passengers will now be able to book flights from Zurich to Abu Dhabi via Swiss. Passengers, flying to Zurich, are now able to connect directly to Abu Dhabi on an Etihad Airways flight. The luggage will be checked through to the final destination.

Furthermore, the codeshare agreement will allow Etihad Airways passengers flying on the Zurich – Geneva route to continue direct via Swiss´ Zurich hub. Both Geneva and Zurich are important destinations in Switzerland, who are both connected directly to Abu Dhabi.

Activation of the codeshare flights will be on March 26, 2018.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways chief executive officer, said: “This codeshare deepens Etihad Airways’ commitment to the Swiss travel market and Switzerland, a key destination for travellers from our UAE home, neighbouring Gulf countries, and across our Asia Pacific network. The partnership further strengthens the historic, cultural, business and tourism ties that the UAE and Switzerland have enjoyed over many decades.”

The codeshare flights are part of a cooperation between Lufthansa Group and Etihad Aviation Group, which was set up in December 2016.
