In the first quarter performance reports, United Airlines informed about the acquisition of second-hand Airbus A319 aircraft. The 20 jets are scheduled for delivery in 2020 and 2021. United Airlines currently operates a fleet of 67 Airbus A319 on domestic and international routes. Each jet is configured with 128 seats, 42 in Economy Plus and 78 in Economy Class.

In 2015, United Airlines and AerCap have announced, the airline will lease 25 former China Southern Airlines Airbus A319. Since the first delivery started in 2016, United Airlines has received eleven jets and has scheduled the delivery of the fourteen additional former China Southern Airlines Airbus A319 until 2021.

According to aviation media, the new acquired jets could come from Europe’s low cost carrier Easyjet, which is the largest A319 operator worldwide.

United Airlines operates one of the largest fleets in the world. The A319 and 99 Airbus A320 are the only Airbus aircraft in the fleet of over 740 aircraft. For its domestic and medium-haul network, United Airlines operates 329 Boeing 737 Family aircraft, including the B737-700, -800, -900 and -900ER.

For its fleet renewal, the carrier has ordered 61 Boeing 737 MAX 9 and 100 B737 MAX 10. The first MAX 9 is scheduled for delivery in the next weeks and will be introduced in domestic flight schedules starting in June.
