General Aviation Bombardier acquires service centre in Berlin

Bombardier has released, that it has completed the acquisition of a new aircraft service centre in Berlin.

Bombardier has announced, that the previously announced acquisition of a new aircraft service centre in Berlin has been completed and that the manufacturer has taken full ownership of the facility and operations.

The Canadian company has bought all of the issued and outstanding shares of the service centre in Germany´s capital city. Bombardier purchased the needed shares off Lufthansa Technik AG and ExecuJet Aviation Group AG, meaning the centre is now wholly owned by Bombardier.

Chris Debergh, Vice President, OEM Parts and Services, Bombardier, commented: “We welcome the highly talented employees of the Berlin Service Centre to the Bombardier service network [...] We value their expertise and customer focus – as part of the Bombardier team, they will continue to provide best-in-class aircraft maintenance services to our valued operators of Bombardier business aircraft.”

The centre is located at Berlin Brandenburg Airport and has been providing MRO services to Bombardier business aircraft customers since 1997. The facility has more than 15,000 square meters of service capacity.

Bombardier will benefit from the 240 highly skilled employees, which have been contributing to the success of the facility for decades. The centre provides customers will the highest-level maintenance of support for Bombardier´s aircraft fleet, the manufacturer stated.

“The service centre has received several awards for its technical excellence and customer satisfaction, thanks largely to an experienced and dedicated workforce. Among its many milestones, it was the first in Europe to perform maintenance on Bombardier’s flagship Global 7500 aircraft. The state-of-the-art service centre recently modernized and transformed its shop floor to maximize efficiencies and streamline processes, providing customers with an unsurpassed service experience,” Bombardier concluded.

Across the globe, Bombardier has service centres and this latest in the heart of Europe underlines the manufacturer’s ambitions to offer its customers the fastest and most efficient service as possible.
