Embraer has delivered the first Praetor 600 business jet to customer Flexjet. The European operator is the Praetor fleet launch customer having received the first Praetor 500 less than a year ago. This new aircraft will help Flexjet to expand its operations in Europe.

This delivery comes from an order signed by Embraer and Flexjet on NBAA-BACE 2019. The deal was valued at around US$ 1.4 billion and comprises Praetor 500s, 600s and Phenom 300s.

Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, commented: “We are honoured to further execute on our commitment to Flexjet, our esteemed partner of over 17 years, with the delivery of this first Praetor 600 to our long-standing fleet customer [...] It’s a privilege to collaborate on the introduction of not only the most disruptive and technologically advanced super-midsize jet in the world but also on delivering the ultimate experience in business aviation to Flexjet Owners in Europe.”

In 2003, Embraer and Flexjet started their partnership when the company – then named Flight Options – became the first fractional ownership program to introduce the Legacy Executive jet. Seven years later, they introduced the Phenom 300. In 2012, the company celebrated the introduction of the 100th Phenom 300.

Then in 2015, Flexjet became the first fractional provider to fly with the Legacy 500 business jet and a year later the operator took delivery of its 1000th business jet. The same year, Flexjet welcomed its first Legacy 450 to the fleet. The delivery of the Phenom 600 is the latest evolution in the company’s fleet structure.

Michael Silvestro, CEO of Flexjet, added: “We have spent the past three years laying the foundation to become a force in European private aviation, and we are proud to exceed the expectations of this valued market [...] The Praetor 600, with its unparalleled technology, comfort, and performance, marked by class-leading, intercontinental range, rounds out the fleet that will  help us to meet every possible need and desire of Flexjet Owners in Europe.”

Embraer´s Phenom 500 and 600 both received their FAA, EASA and ANAC type certifications, only less than one year after they were first announced at NBAA-BACE in 2018. The Praetor 600 is defined as a midsize jet and is capable of flying four passengers for 4,018 nautical miles (7,441 km).
