European helicopter manufacturer Airbus Helicopters has announced, that it was able to secure an H160 order from Derazona Helicopters from Indonesia. With the delivery of the rotorcraft, Derazona is set to become Asia´s first operator that uses the H160 for oil and gas operations.

With the purchase of the aircraft, Derazona seeks to benefit from the multi-mission aircraft, which can perform various missions. The operator will use the aircraft mainly for oil and gas missions, but also for offshore, utility and commercial passenger transportation flights.

Ramadi Widyardiono, Business Development Manager of Derazona Helicopters, commented: “This new order is a timely welcome as our company embarks on a transformation journey to grow our business. We are very impressed by the performance of the H160, and excited at the opportunities that this state-of-the-art helicopter will bring to our operations.”

Vincent Dubrule, Head of Asia Pacific of Airbus Helicopters, added: “We are greatly honoured by Derazona’s vote of confidence, becoming not just the country’s first H160 operator, but our oil and gas launch customer in the Asia Pacific […] The H160 is a game-changer, setting new standards for safety, performance, comfort and design. We trust that it will be a valuable asset to our customer as they bolster their operations with this versatile workhorse.”

Airbus Helicopter´s H160 was designed to perform missions in the demanding oil and gas operations branch. The compact size will be an advantage when landing on oil platforms offshore. The H160 is being powered by Safran Helicopter Engine´s latest Arrano engines, which provide a 15% reduction in fuel burn.

Furthermore, modern Blue Edge blades and a large shrouded Fenestron tail rotor ensure, that the H160 is operating as quiet as possible, while still delivering high performance at the same time. In combination with Airbus´ Helionix avionics suite, the aircraft is one of the most technologically advanced helicopters in the industry.

Modern design features and avionics in the cockpit substantially reduce crew workload, higher the situational awareness of the pilots and decreases the risks of pilot error. H160 aircraft have been delivered to customers around the world for a various range of missions.
