Helicopters Gwinnett County Police department orders new MD 530F

MD Helicopters Inc. announced today, that the Gwinnett County Police Department Aviation Unit has ordered a new MD 530F.

The helicopter will be delivered in 4Q 2018 and will replace one of the Departments´ MD 369E, which was involved in an accident earlier this year. Gwinnett County Police Department Aviation Unit currently operates with one MD 530F helicopter.

The new helicopter will be equipped with a 650shp Rolls-Royce 250-C30 engine. Furthermore, the law enforcement mission equipment package includes longer main-rotor blades, extended tail boom, an all-glass cockpit, as well as wire strike protection, a 21-gallon auxiliary fuel tank and a recessed PA Speaker Mount. The package will be installed by Hiram, a Georgia-based MD Helicopters Service Center.

The Gwinnett County Police Department Aviation Unit is based at Gwinnett County Airport and Briscoe Field, United States, and offers direct aerial support for uniformed patrol officers. The department also supports all other divisions within the Gwinnett Country Government.
