The multipurpose helicopters will be used for defence and security missions. Before the end of 2019, the aircraft are most likely to be delivered to Luxembourg Defence. In the beginning of year 2020, the operator will put the H145Ms into service. The helicopters will be serviced and operated at Luxembourg Findel Airport.

Furthermore, both parties have agreed, that Airbus will provide a training and support package. With the package, Airbus enables pilots to use the H145M for training purposes. Moreover, Luxembourg Defence will have the opportunity to make use to service offers from the manufacturer.

Airbus Helicopter´s H145M is a light twin-engine helicopter. It was first delivered in 2015 to the German Armed Forces. Since then, Hungary, Serbia and Thailand have ordered the aircraft.

With its equipment, the aircraft can be used for a wide range of tasks, including air rescue, medical evacuation, passenger transport or reconnaissance missions. All H145Ms feature a fast roping system, a high-performance camera, advanced communications systems and a search light. The latest technologies lead to reduced pilot workloads and the opportunity to accomplish missions in night-time and under adverse weather conditions.

Moreover, the helicopters are being equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC) and Airbus Helicopters´ Helionix digital avionics suite. With the two Safran Arriel 2E engines, the H145M is said to be the quietest helicopter in its class.
