Industry Embraer delivers 28 commercial and 20 executive jets in 2Q18

Embraer has presented its numbers for the second quarter of 2018.

Altogether, the Brazilian manufacturer delivered 28 commercial aviation jets and 20 business jets, with 15 of them being light jets and 5 large jets. Embraer stated, that its firm order backlog amounts to $17.4 Billion.

In the past quarter, Embraer also celebrated the delivery of the world´s first Embraer E190-E2 to Norwegians largest regional carrier Widerøe. Today, the aircraft is already in service on European routes.

The manufacturer was also able to gain orders for its regional aircraft. American Airlines ordered 15 E175 jets, with deliveries to begin in March 2019. Farnborough International Airshow 2018 was a successful exhibition for Embraer, too. Mauritania ordered two E175 jets, United Airlines 25 E175 jets and Wataniya Airways 10 E195-E2 jets.

According to Embraer, all other announcements, such as the order from Republic Airways for up to 200 regional jets, will be incorporated in the manufacturer´s backlog by the end of 2018.

Regarding the business jet segment, Embraer was able to sign a firm deal with Air Hamburg over the purchase of four additional Legacy 650E business jets. The deal was confirmed during EBACE in Geneva. When delivered, Air Hamburg will operate a fleet of 17 Legacy aircraft, which makes the operator the largest of the Legacy 600/650 models.

Moreover, Embraer Services and & Support signed agreements with Belavia Belarusian Airlines and CommutAir for the support of their respective Embraer fleets.

Furthermore, the Sorocaba Service Center in Sao Paulo received certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to perform maintenance of the Embraer E190-E2 jet.
