Start-Ups Aer Southeast receives AOC

Irish regional airline Aer Southeast has received an Air Operators Certificate (AOC) and will start operations this year.

Aer Southeast has announced, that it will commence flight operations this year. The operator said, that the airline now is part of a company, which has obtained its Air Operators Certificate. Therefore, the start of operations is near.

Originally, the airline had plans to launch flights in July 2017.

The Waterford based carrier is likely to start operations to the UK, as Manchester, Birmingham and London-Luton are planned destinations. According to the airline, both Manchester and Birmingham will be served three times a week, while London-Luton will be served six times a week.

A Saab 340 will be chartered from Slovenian carrier Lipican Aer. More details are expected to come through in the next days.

Before gaining its AOC, Aer Southeast had to resolve problems with Waterford airport, which was in discussions with another operator. In the end however, the airport decided to permit operations to Aer Southeast.
