Yourways has announced to commence operations on December 15, 2017. The new airline will connect Wilhelmshaven and Cuxhaven with Sylt-Westerland Airport every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All flights will be operated with a new Quest Kodiak with 8 seats. Yourways will be the first airline in Europe to operate the aircraft type.

With connections to Heligoland, St. Peter-Ording, Borkum, Juist and Norderney the start-up plans a major expansion in Spring 2018.

Sylt’s airport manager Peter Douven stated in a German newspaper: “After the insolvency of Air Berlin we are very happy to announce new flights from Sylt even though Wilhelmshaven and Cuxhaven are not our focused market. The new airline plans to use a two-engine ATR72 aircraft with 72 seats for some flights in Spring 2018.”

Yourways was founded in 2016 by the two former Air Berlin manager Tim Haferl and Benjamin Götze. Both are owners of Privateways which offers charter services with a Hondajet. Privateways was the European launch customer of the business jet.

Yourways will have to compete with OFD (Ostfriesischer-Flug-Dienst) which operates a fleet of five Britten Norman Islander, one GA 8 Airvan and one Cessna 172 on flights from its hub in Emden and Cuxhaven.
