The carrier is likely to lease five Boeing 737-800, according to Vietstar Aero Engineering commercial director Trinh Quoc Cuong. By 2020, Vietstar plans to have a fleet of 15 aircraft.

According to the report, Cuong said that Vietstar Airlines still awaits governmental approval and certification to begin operations with narrow-bodied aircraft. In 2016, Vietstar applied for an air operator´s certificate, but which got denied due to a lack of slots at Ho Chi Minh City airport. Furthermore, there are plenty of other Start-Up airlines applying to launch flight operations in Vietnam.

Its network will include international, but also domestic routes. Most likely, Vietstar will start competing on the route from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi.

Vietstar is an aviation company specialized in Passenger Transport, Cargo Transport, Aircraft Repairing & Maintenance, Aviation Fuel supplying and pilot training in Vietnam. The company is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City and currently operates charter flights with Beech King Airs, a PZL M-28 and an Embraer Legacy 600. Vietstar´s main customers are Jetstar Pacific and Vietjet, who are both receiving Maintenance services for their A320 fleets. Vietstar is also certified to provide Boeing 737 maintenance.
