Embraer company Eve Air Mobility has announced a new partnership. Azorra, a longstanding customer and lessor of Embraer aircraft, has signed a Letter of Intent to purchase up to 200 of Eve´s electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

Over the course of the partnership, the two companies seek to explore accessible transportation and infrastructure solutions for future UAM operations. Eve is a leading company in this area and is currently acquiring companies like Azorra as early adopters of the industry.

According to Eve and Azorra, the companies will focus on establishing a base of operators that plan for scheduled UAM missions. Requested infrastructure will be established in order to perform eVTOL flights throughout the world.

Ron Baur, President of Azorra, commented on the partnership: “Azorra is excited to partner with Eve and be on the forefront of the eVTOL revolution. The practicality of Eve’s design, coupled with Embraer’s 50+ year proven track record of developing safe and reliable aircraft will position Eve well for a successful product launch.”

Andre Stein, co-CEO of Eve, added: “Today almost half of commercial aircraft are leased and we believe leasing companies will also play an active role in Urban Air Mobility, allowing operators to remain asset light. Azorra has a history of helping markets grow and we are excited to join them in this new frontier for aviation.”

Next to the around 200 eVTOLs, which will join Azorra in the future, the partnership also offers the opportunity to propose new frameworks and procedures to implement UAM ecosystems into Eve´s product and service portfolio.
